The purpose of this website is to educate the public before the Kickstarter campaign and get an email address from those who would support it and donate at least $1.00 to the Kickstarter. How Real Reviews Helps the Consumer
As a small business owner that started fresh out of college in 2010, I believed in technology and the idea we are in the information age. With that belief, my business marketing strategy heavily relied on the internet and review sites. I realized that my customers went to these review sites to find the “top” rated business for what the needed. At times I have felt guilty knowing that what they were often getting was simply the company that paid the most. It occurred to me that companies that paid the most for marketing would have to charge more to cover that marketing cost. As many things in life I saw money and corporate greed polluting a great idea. That is one of the reasons I created Real Reviews was to solve that problem. If we remove money from the equation and give the customer the option to use a variable such as the location or alphabetical spelling to prioritize the list it would solve that problem and promote authenticity. Taking away that cost will also help business compete to offer the best price and value, again benefiting the customer. A Real Review company value and promise to its user is to never allow money to be involved in this process, as a customer I just blindly trusted these institutions and never thought twice about it. It was not until I was a business owner until I realized this happens. One of our missions at Real Reviews is to make sure our users have complete and total trust, by being genuine, transparent, and authentic.
How Real Reviews Helps the Business Owner
A large reason why review sites are so popular and my personal favorite thing about review sites is they keep business accountable for their actions. As a small business owner I noticed a lot of inefficiencies that I believe could be corrected by holding people accountable for their actions. For instanceI was shocked at how many people don’t show up for the interviews talking with other business owners this seems to be a common problem, it seems the lower the position the lower the show rate. If a review was written on that person, it would give them a reason to stop no showing and wasting employers time. I own a few home service businesses that offer free estimates, I noticed one of the biggest complaints on the reviews for the home service industry are people no showing or being late to the estimate, I am certain that review sites have dramatically improved the show rate and the likelihood of estimators being on time. This is because it holds those business accountable, they know if they decide to not call and not show up they will get a bad review and possibly loose future business. Another aspect I was shocked about doing commercial business, was how often the date I got paid and the date I was told I got paid were incorrect. I know they have integrity with their customers by the reviews, but since there were no checks and balances for this type of relationship again the lack of accountability led to a lack of communication.

A great problem review sites solve is they make businesses accountable. While running a business I realized holding people accountable would solve a lot of problems, that is the second reason I started Real Reviews.

This is only phase one. I am trying to show that enough enterpenuers want this. Next step is to get the Kickstarter filled. The money for Kickstarter will be 90% for marketing it and only 10% to build the actual site.
